NAB Neighbourhood

For more than 20 years, our colleagues have led one of the largest corporate volunteering and giving programs in Australia. Our 30,000 colleagues use NAB Neighbourhood, a technology platform, to create fundraisers, donate to the causes that matter most to them, take part in volunteering opportunities and organise their own volunteering.

NAB Neighbourhood is powered by Benevity, opens in new window, and allows our colleagues to give their time, money and skills to organisations with the added potential to elevate and grow NAB's community contribution and support.

Volunteering hours

In 2023, our colleagues contributed more than 42,000 hours of volunteer work.

How NAB Neighbourhood can support your organisation

Our community involvement is significant. We’re creating stronger communities through volunteering, workplace giving, grants and supporting Indigenous businesses. We also play a role in NAB Ready Together, which helps customers, colleagues and their communities withstand and recover from natural disasters.

To be part of NAB Neighbourhood, your organisation needs to:

  • be registered with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission
  • hold Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR1) status
  • complete Benevity’s self-certification questions
  • register for EFT payments through Benevity.

For more information about advertising volunteering opportunities and receiving workplace giving donations on NAB Neighbourhood, please contact us at NABNeighbourhood@nab.com.au.

If you’re ineligible to create a cause profile on Benevity to receive workplace donations, we may still be able to support your cause with volunteers. Email us to see how we may be able to help.

Corporate Goodness Awards

In 2022, NAB Neighbourhood was recognised for its impact at the global Benevity Corporate Goodness Awards.

Volunteering at NAB

NAB colleagues receive 16 hours of general volunteer leave and unlimited skilled volunteer leave each year. We work with a range of community organisations across Australia that make a real difference.

Volunteering secondments

For colleagues who want to invest more in a social issue by volunteering their expertise, we have skilled volunteering secondments that help not-for-profits deepen their impact.

Community Strategy Challenges

We partner with Australian Business Volunteers, opens in new window to run skilled volunteering challenges where our colleagues use their skills and expertise to unpack a strategic business problem for a charity partner. The unique 10-day immersive experience drives sustainable social change, a workable solution for the valued partner and builds capacity for colleagues.

Jawun Indigenous Business Secondments

Through our partnership with Jawun, opens in new window, NAB colleagues travel to the Kimberley in Western Australia for six weeks to support an Indigenous social and economic project. This is an immersive and deeply impactful cultural experience.

Giving back to the community

With NAB Neighbourhood, NAB colleagues can track their time and receive $5 for every hour volunteered to donate to a charity of their choice. The program gives colleagues the opportunity to make one-off or recurring donations to their favourite charities directly from their pre-tax pay.
