Why no interest loans and microfinance are important

Some people don’t have access to credit or banking. This can put them at risk of falling into poverty and missing out on opportunities, like buying a car so they can take up a job they wouldn’t be able to get to otherwise.

We want to help Australia’s most vulnerable people with no interest loans and other financial assistance so they can get ahead, which contributes to sustainable economic growth.

For 20 years, we’ve worked with Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand (Good Shepherd), and state and federal governments to provide financial resources, education and no and low interest products in over 600 locations around Australia.

To celebrate this 20-year milestone, we’ve released a report that reflects on key achievements of the partnership, our joint focus on affordable housing and how we will continue to champion financial inclusion together.
